  • Mae'r tîm @PrifysgolBangor a @PrifysgolAbertawe yn bwriadu cynnal rhagor o waith gyda'r sector morol Cymru mewn project newydd SEACAMS2.

The SEACAMS team can provide expertise in marine ecosystems. We can provide the skills needed to look at changes to animal and plant communities in regions ranging from the coastal zone to the offshore environment. Previous studies this team have been involved with include:

  • increasing biodiversity in sea defences.
  • examining the impact of boat moorings on seagrass meadows.
  • developing new methods to record marine mammal sightings.
  • analysing and writing reports from marine mammal surveys.
  • developing methods to commercially grow seagrass.

We can help you with:

  • invertebrate and sediment analyses.
  • ecological survey design.
  • benthos (seafloor) sampling and habitat mapping.
  • ecosystem health studies.
  • behavioural studies of open water animals using remote logger technology.
  • development and testing of survey equipment.
  • developing methods to examine the impact of resource extraction technologies and other structures on marine communities.

We are also able to assist you in areas of eco-tourism, species identification guides and management strategies.

We are not limited to these research areas so please get in contact with us if you’d like to know more about our capabilities.
